System requirements

MSI installer

Save or run the .msi file on the target computer. The installer places a startup icon on your desktop and in the Start menu. Refer to the MSI installation guide for detailed steps.

ZIP package

Save the ZIP file and extract to a folder of your choice. Follow the instructions in the ZIP installation guide.

First launch

A connection popup will prompt for a database file. Press the ‘...’ button, navigate to an E-SPIR database file at a location with write access. A fresh empty database fileset can be copied from the installation folder.

Upgrade note: Upon first connection to an older database, E-SPIR will prompt to confirm an upgrade. Always back up your database first — after upgrade the data cannot be accessed with an earlier version.

You can use a personal database, or store the database fileset on a network share for concurrent access by a few users within a department.

SPIL upload

A key feature is the SPIL (Spare Parts Information List) upload, which allows bulk import of equipment and spare parts information from Excel workbooks for efficient replication from other systems.

This version generates SPIRs in XML format. Owner/Operators must also use E-SPIR v8.x or later to load these SPIRs.
